Amazing Japan is a web-based community, sharing news, information and stories about Japan and its (pop)culture.
… is to share news, information and stories about Japan and its (pop-) culture. Our aim is to bring Japan closer to the rest of the world and to “Share the Amazing Japan Feeling”.
… is to spread the fascinating diversity and uniqueness of the Japanese culture, while strengthening the intercultural dialogue between Japan and other countries.
AMAZING JAPAN – SHARE THE FEELING!
Amazing Japan is a web-based community, sharing news, information and stories about Japan and its (pop)culture. One of the founding reasons of our community is to connect Japan and those who are interested in the country and its culture. Therefore, Amazing Japan’s goal is to present the diverse Japanese culture and to promote the intercultural dialogue between Japan and other nations.
Inspired by Danny Choo, Amazing Japan started as a simple Facebook fanpage in 2012, on which the founders Tristan Junker and Thomas Rogge shared their experiences and emotions regarding Japan. But with this cultural exchange gaining more and more importance, Amazing Japan changed to a business project, followed by products like a calendar, which offered pictures of and information on Japanese culture. Since 2013, Amazing Japan grew into a company and was able to make contacts both locally and in Japan. Cooperating with both local and Japanese companies, artists and fans in Amazing Japan work towards further connecting those two sides.
AMAZING JAPAN AMBASSADOR
Our two main mascots, Yuina Yamato and Satoshi Watanabe, came to life a short while after the founding of Amazing Japan, helping with spreading the ‘Amazing Japan Feeling’ ever since.
Yuina Yamato represents the Amazing Japan community and the passion of discovering the immense diversity of Japanese culture. She reflects Amazing Japan’s philosophy: assemble people who already share the same affection for Japanese culture, but also wholeheartedly welcome anyone without any knowledge of Japan and its culture.
Satoshi Watanabe is Yuina‘s classmate, and also represents the Amazing Japan community's desire to further the passion of sharing Japan's immensely diverse culture. He reflects Amazing Japan’s mission: crossing boundaries by sharing news, information and stories about Japan and its (pop)culture. The community also wants to encourage everybody to share their own views on Japan.
Apart from Yuina and Satoshi, Amazing Japan has 4 other mascots, each representing a different aspect of Japan’s traditional and popular culture.
